About Us
MAPPING AND GEOPROCESSING TOOLS
The most important tools are our computer workstations, software, and mapping Drones.
In terms of software, we rely and support proven, free and opensource software with large contributing communities; and use open data formats.
This results in cost saving for both Clients and XYINTEL. Open data formats favor frictionless cross-platform and -people data exchange.

MAPPING SIMPLIFIED
We strive to make our deliverables simple, to the point. This is achieved from early-on planning, delineation, and delegation, and comes from the understanding that complex deliverables are often a barrier to communication. From increased proficiency comes simplicity.
Appended explanatory notes include all the information necessary to unwrap the processes and data behind the deliverables. A XYINTEL representative will remain available to clarify and improve any deliverable you deem insufficient.
FIELD WORK
Directly or Indirectly, field work is an important part of our operations.
Many geospatial projects use field-gathered data. That is often combined with pre-existing data from government or other sources.
We use drones to capture aerial imagery and map remote areas of difficult access.
We meet and work directly with contractors doing other field work and gathering other field data.
PRINCIPLES
A) Free Software and Open Data Formats
Principle: Rely and support proven, free and opensource software with large contributing communities; use open data formats.
Objective: Cost saving for both Clients and XYINTEL; Use the best available tools as determined by large, open communities; Frictionless cross-platform data exchange.
Example: QGIS for most GIS/mapping tasks; Forestry submissions through direct XML editing.
B) Transparency
Principle: Full transparency on financials: quotes/estimates, billable time records, billable expense markups, etc.
Objective: Achieve a level of diligence, then trustworthiness that makes clients trust XYINTEL for future projects.
Example: Markup, if any, is explicitly stated on XYINTEL invoices; billable expense invoices are attached to XYINTEL invoices.
C) Collaboration
Principle: Collaborate as much as necessary with other expert companies and individuals. Acknowledge our limitations and increase synergies.
Objective: Improve project outcome adequacy and quality.
Example: Ongoing relations with Legal Surveyors and Forestry Professionals in BC's North.
