Drone Mapping

  • XYINTEL has a demonstrable track record in digital elevation/terrain modeling (with published papers in peer-reviewed high-impact-factor journals: A; B).

  • We are not only a Drones company. XYINTEL has a strong expertise in Geospatial Analysis and Geographic Information Systems.

  • Relatedly, we don't have to subcontract for deliverables in less common data formats or higher-level analytical deliverables.

Forestry Mapping

Orthophoto Maps (aerial imagery) from Drones reveal forest stand details that are not possible to realize from the ground or satellite imagery.

During cutblock layout, those orthophotos help determining areas of interest, and thus also optimize field resource allocation.

Post-harvest, orthophotos reveal the scope of the activities, and how they compare to the permitted scope.

3D / Digital Elevation Models

Specific photogrammetry algorithms, and also LiDAR sensors and georeferencing solutions have been developed for lightweight Drone platforms.

Models with resolution < 10 cm and centimetric accuracy are increasingly used for volumetric and earthworks purposes.

Topographic models from photogrammetric algorithms won't properly reveal bare-ground in highly vegetated areas. Several lightweight LiDAR sensors are available for Drones.

Crop and Vegetation Mapping

Multispectral Sensors onboard drones capture information inaccessible to the unaided human eye. This information reveals crop and vegetation conditions such as hydric stress and biomass.

That kind of information is useful, for instance, to determine irrigation spatial and temporal patterns.

Survey-grade Accuracy

There are now many standard, accessible platforms that provide centimetric accuracy (e.g., DJI Phantom RTK; eBee RTK). With the Real-Time and/or Post-Processing Differential Positioning solutions provided by these platforms, and in collaboration with partner surveyors, we will have your project tightly georeferenced and ready for your engineers to use.

Cell Tower Inspection, L.O.S.

Network Operatiors have used Drones for cell phone tower inspections and feasibility studies for a long time. Highly detailed photography and 3D models of the Towers are used by inspectors to map the tower occupancy and the state of its components.

Thermal Infrared Inspections

While Near Infrared electromagnetic radiation is useful for vegetation health mapping, the thermal infrared, as observed through the so-called thermographic cameras, is useful for thermal inspections; for example: building thermal efficiency; solar panel condition.

Construction Site Mapping

Drone Survey-Grade Orthophoto Maps and 3D models are quick to produce and provide engineers with detailed and actionable information that would take much longer to determine from the ground.

We can use your ground control to get a tight match between the aerial data and the construction site spatial reference system.

Engineering project tracking

Large Engineering Projects can benefit from repeat video and photo that shows project temporal evolution to project managers both onsite and offsite. Examples include linear features such as pipelines. Generally speaking, regular Drones, under the standard legislative constraints or Air Traffic Regulators, have the capacity to Image 50+ linear km in one day.

Landscape video and photo

Aerial Footage from Drones is today Ubiquituous, from newscasts to tv shows. Filming crews do not always have the gear and licensing required to perform such shoots, and thus rely on contractors.

We have platforms that shoot at 4k and 60fps.
